A connected community

Newstead 2050 works to make Newstead a vibrant, fun, interesting and connected community. We help make stuff happen.

Who we are

Newstead 2050 is a volunteer run community group aiming to shape our community’s future.

We are an incorporated association with charity status.

Our projects span the dreams, hopes and ambitions of our community. Residents, clubs and other organisations pursue those dreams, hopes and ambitions via projects and events and we back them by providing, for example, a recognised structure (good governance), advocacy support, grant auspicing, insurance and book-keeping. We bring our community together to understand community-wide priorities and ambitions for Newstead.

What people say

"My involvement with Newstead 2050 has provided me with valuable insights into the process involved in getting community-led projects off the ground. As a committee member, I have also gained an understanding of what good governance looks like in the community sector."
Annelies Chaplin, Secretary
"In 2017, when I was considering a move to the country, I had never heard of Newstead. What first caught my attention was a community-led project to install a solar farm. It really stood out to me and made me think — this is the kind of place I could imagine calling home."
